	ABOUT ME Greetings Folks! Here I am, tucked up in my new home in Washington State. We moved lock, stock, and about 200 barrels from California to Washington on May 26th, 2004, and are now in the process of unpacking, unloading, finding and putting away. A Herculean task almost now finished. We are very pleased with our new location and are looking forward to an exciting time here in Washington. It has been our privilege and pleasure to offer a variety of opal, rough and finished, turquoise, fire agate, chrysocolla and other fine rough materials, as well as small mineral specimens and finished jewelry since 1998 and I hope to continue into the future. It is with great sadness that I announce the my partner and wife of these last 35 years, passed away on May 30th of 2006. A big thank you to all of you who have purchased from our website and eBay auctions. For those of you new to the website, let me introduce myself. I am Wes Roth, and I run OPALCUTTER, a company dedicated to fine opal material and to education about opals. If you have a question, please email me and if I cannot answer it, I will do my best to find out for you and/or refer you to someone who might have the information. There is also a link on the website to The American Opal Society website. As the name implies, OPALCUTTER deals primarily in Opal. Opal is a passion of mine so OPALCUTTER tries to carry as many varieties of Opal as it can. Currently in stock are roughs from Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, Koroit, Yowah, Honduras, Ethiopia, and Peru. Customers at rock and gem or art shows are encouraged to select just the right piece(s) of rough from trays of loose material on the table. There are also jars of opal available for purchase. And questions about cutting opal are always welcome. There are also cut and finished stones and hand-made jewelry. OPALCUTTER also carries a good selection of other roughs including turquoise, chrysocolla, laguna agate and fire agate, as well as slices/slabs of roughs for cabbing and jewelry making. I am a past president, and show chairman, of The American Opal Society in Anaheim, California, and have recently joined the Northwest Opal Association here in Washington As well as the Skagit Gem and Mineral Club.. While in Southern California, OPALCUTTER was asked to participate as a vendor in the following rock and gem club shows: The American Opal Society, Anaheim, CA. The Delver's Gem and Mineral Society, Downey, CA. Glendora Invitational Gem and Mineral Show, Glendora, CA. Monrovia Rockhounds, Inc., Monrovia, CA. Mineralogical Society of Southern California, Pasadena, CA. North Orange County Gem and Mineral Society, La Habra, CA. Pasadena Lapidary Society, Pasadena, CA. Quartzsite PowWow, Quartzsite, AZ. San Diego Mineral and Gem Society, Inc., San Diego (outskirts), CA. Victor Valley Gem and Mineral Club, Victorville, CA. (as well as their Tailgater show in Stoddard Wells) We were also privileged to participate in the 2003 California Federation of Mineralogical Societies and American Federation of Mineralogical Societies combined 4 day show held at the Ventura, CA. Fairgrounds. In October of 2004, OPALCUTTER participated in the Northwest Opal Association show in Tukwila, Washington. In February, 2005, OPALCUTTER participated in the Northwest Artisan Gallery's Eagle Fest, a show dedicated to information about the wildlife of the Northwest. And, yes, we have eagles and hawks flying over and fishing in the Skagit River, across the street from our home.
